I attempted to state the truth without attacking an individual.

It is sad that some posters are attempting to sensationalize an innocent comment and finger point.

    Get used to it.

The current HPI has caused the bears to suffer with sore heads.

Sadly they seem to think it is their right to have everyone else suffer along with them.

The bears want cheaper housing for ALL. That's hardly wanting everyone else to suffer.

Seems to me that the bulls have the taunting signatures on this thread too.

Generally over the past month or so we have had the bears on here getting very agitated with the way the markets have been picking up. Understandable but not particularly welcome.

Thankfully a fair few of them appear to have disappeared or have migrated to the house buying forum to spread their wisdom (doom/gloom scaremongering) there.

This forum has had a massive amount of extremist bears ever since the start of this crash. They have been forcing their VI down everyone's throats in a manner which does not invite polite and intelligent debate. Now that the markets have improved most of them have popped off back to the HPC site to lick their wounds.

On the other hand I have been very impressed by the way in which the bulls (Cleaver, chucky, Really2 and StevieJ in particular) have held their ground through all of this despite the taunting from the bears. In fact all but one of the bulls (Mr McTavish) have encouraged rational discussion about the facts.

I don't normally venture on to the 'Debate' board, but had a looky last night when I couldn't sleep. It did get me thinking, does the board serve any purpose? At one point there were some interesting debates/ discussions on there, but now it just seems to be backstabbing and point scoring.

Apologies for bringing up an old argument, I just don't see that the board is in any way constructive.
    Gone ... or have I?

I did post a bit in there when the board was new-ish but then out of the blue peeps started coming out with AE and sockpuppet derogatory comments about me and my post count (the blue bit of my signature refers). Totally irrelevant and unwarranted, but hey ho, very small boats are floated with very little water. ;)
Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.

Is it simply a case of seeing what you want to see and filtering out the rest?

I could quote loads of stuff from a couple of those posters you mention from just today which doesnt exactly show their "holding their ground" in spectacular fashion. I won't, because it would be a bit, well, yucky and a bit like yanking on the teachers trousers furiously to get attention to be dragging that in.

It's quite simple. There are posters on both sides that will have a pop at each other. It's the nature of being seperated into 2 categories. It's trying to put a stop to it before the posters trying to discuss simply leave thats the difficult issue to grab hold of.

As a wise man once said. To get the right answers you need to ask the right questions.
Do you want them invading other parts of the board?

btw. it's good to see the board got you thinking. :)
