The sign they have on the wall is illegal. Such a matter needs to be reported to your local Trading Standards through Consumer Direct.

It is also illegal to make the statement verbally. This is, of course, assuming they did not say that your statutory rights remain unaffected?

Sorry, I must have made a mistake as my bike seems to have disappeared somewhere!
  • Also under s.6 Unfair Contract Terms Act 1977 a business can never exclude liability relating to faulty goods arising under s.14 of the Sale of Goods Act

Anyone else getting fed up with SueSueSue's educational hints?

OP - You have the rights as Bingo Bango rightly points out.

Thanks for all of your comments. OH spoke to the area manager today. The second dress is being cleaned by Flannels at their cost, the first one is being cleaned to see if it springs back to shape, if that works they have said that whenever it requires cleaning or losses(sp) shape they will send it to the cleaners at their cost. If it doesn't work they will of course refund the money
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

Does SueSueSue remind you of UKTIM at all? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Same *positive* ;) outlook on life, same always taking of the opposite position to whatever an OP posts, same occasional missing of full stops at the end of sentences. :D

    Just my 2p.
