My darling Wife bought me one for Christmas. I love it, particularly if you download the speed camera database (now £2 per month).
In February, we went to Suffolk, and my Tom Tom was in use all the way - and the route was spot on. When we arrived - my wife, a noted technopeasant, said "I wonder if it would work in my car?" For me - that is a pretty good recommendation!
I had tried a Garmin G3 (?), and the Tom Tom is definitely worth the extra in my opinion!
Seriously, there have been several favourable reviews e.g Amazon (Price not bad either).

I find it excellent - do about 2000 miles a month for work and its a godsend. Have convinced father in law to get one too and hes please (tho only uses it for long trips). Easy to backup and install in the car, touch screen is easy to use and its only sent me the wrong way once.
Shop around when buying (I found Currys with a discount code to be the best price at the time) as the price can vary quite a bit between shops.Married MSE style (sort of) 9/10/10 :j0 -
hubby got a discount through his work and he uses it everyday to go out on business visits etc... dont know what we'd do without it now.0

How loud is the voice instructions? Can it be heard over 'motorway noise'?
A review on Amazon said that the battery life is long (after 4 hours of unplugged use, the battery was still 2/3 charged). Does this sound right to you guys as a few others have said that its only 2 hours. (I dont have a lighter in the car at the moment so I would be getting the house charger and hoping it lasts)
Are there any alternate cases out there that would fit the unit without it costing the earth?
And the best price ive found it is £229 at PC world, is that a good price? (I couldn't find any codes for PC World) (Nod to Mods: sorry if that question isn't allowed in Techie Stuff):j Draco dormiens nunquam titillandus :j0 -

My hearing isn't the best, and it is more than loud enough for me - and I don't run it anywhere near full volume. It is intelligent enough to increase the volume itself when the speed goes up too.
I bought myself a camera case - works for me. Take care that you don't turn it on by mistake when in a case though - easily done, and not good for battery life! Sorry, cannot comment of battery life, I have a power socket in the car.

Or you can get brand new ones or close to new from https://www.ebay.co.uk, they seem to go for around £180-190 + delivery.
Never used one, but I was thinking how fast it was going around round abouts?, as Ive used some thats not as fast as the car and you can go the wrong route.Kind Regards
