Bosal exhausts- any good?
Has anyone purchase a Bosal exhaust from leisureshack.co.uk? Or do you know if it's a good make? I need it for my 10 yr old focus.
Was quoted £130 by Kwik fit for parts and labour however I've found a garage who will fit it for £20. If I buy the exhaust from leisureshack it'll cost less than £60 so I'll make a substantial saving.

it would probably be a bosal kwik fit would fit. bosal have been making exhausts for years and as far as im aware are of a half decent standard.
im about due a new one for my focus. can you tell me is that the full system or just from the cat back? im guessing its the latter at that price....work permit granted!0 -
Bosal are one of the major (and possibly better) standard after market exhaust suppliers; they also supply some OEMs.
However, your Ford Focus would almost certainly have originally been fitted with an Arvin Exhaust system; in my opinion a much better quality manufacturer (and much more expensive too!)
Whilst it would be difficult, if not impossible, to get an original exhaust since they are 1 piece I believe (and probably a nightmare to install without dropping the rear axle), your local Ford dealer would be able to supply you with an approved service part (2 piece) that would much more closely match the original specification.
A better quality part, but you'll pay for it..."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
Thanks to those who replied. Goldspanners the price is for middle and back box only. If you go to leisure shack website they're on there. They say they deliver in 2-3 days. My focus is old so I don't need top-of the-range but thanks Premier, I'll call Ford and at least ask for a quote.0

i took mine to rapid fit (ford fast fit centre) for a quote for the manifold and front flexi pipe, they use timax as an aftermarket supplier, supplied and fitted is £180, the genuine ford part is £220 parts only. (i think i can manage to get a discount on genuine ford parts) so if i do and it comes anywhere near the £180 i think i will get the genuine part fitted. there is a bit of work involved as the exhaust manifold isnt too easy to access so the price is a bit high.
i priced the part on the lesiureshack website and it seems to be £120 or £130 if i remember correctly so £50 or £60 labour isnt too bad and they will fit new hangers to replace the corroded ones on the other parts of the exhaust....work permit granted!0
