BT Anytime - Line Rental to?

Hi all,
I'm thinking about signing up for the BT Anytime Package, however, I don't want to switch my line rental to BT, as I get it cheaper with my current provider.
But, in order to have the anytime package, do I have to have my line rental with BT aswell? I've been reading through the documentation and it seems to be that way, but I can't see anything for definite.
Does anyone know if this is the case? You have to take both or you can't have anytime?
Thanks.

You cant have a BT call package unless you have their line rental, and other line rental suppliers want let you just move your calls to them anyway.
Who is your current landline provider, out of interest ?0 -

I wanted to keep my line rental where it is, as it's only £8.80 per month and want to find a cheap anytime package with decent rates to the USA.
Any recommendations?
I've shortlisted;- BT Anytime
- Yourcalls.net
- Sky
- Euphony
- Primus

I use Pipex for my line rental (previously Toucan) and I use VoIP.co.uk for calls, but they've changed their tariffs etc and aren't competitive anymore.

Chris.
You cant use another call supplier other then Pipex if you keep your line rental with them.
Only BT allow you to place your calls through another supplier, and keep your line rental with them.0 -

How I've managed to do it so far then? Could I not use someone such as Primus with Pipex?0 -

VOIP calls don't count as such.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -

So basically, I need to change my line rental to the provider of choice to get the deal, or go with a CPS with BT line rental?
If that is the case, Euphony looks good?
Anyone any opinions?
Thanks for the continued help!0 -
Depends on your voice telephony needs.
Post Office Home Phone (includes line rental in its £11.75 monthly charge) looks good for evening & weekend UK 01/02/03/0845 & 0870 calls and weekend calls to mobiles and/or one or more of the 40 international destinations on offer.
BT's Unlimited Anytime plan @ £4.95/month on top of line rental looks good if you just call UK 01/02/03/0845 & 0870 numbers (using 18185 for calls to mobiles and some international destinations).
Martin recently suggested Euphony's £3.90/month euCallAnytime (12 month contract) as a possibility but I think that requires you to take their line rental (£10.225/month) too rather than being available as a CPS offering.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. It is available as a CPS only product £3.90p a month see: http://www.euphony.com/euCall/ProductCompare.aspx0 -
Hi, I would beware of euphony, I signed up with them and everything was going fine, then all of a sudden they stopped taking my calls through them without telling me saying that BT had cancelled the CPS as it was their right to do so.
I called BT and they said they did no such thing and that the CPS is active. The customer services are a bit rubbish, Ive been promised call backs on several occasions and never go one. Some time you have to wait quite a while to get through as well.
They've done the same thing to my mum's house phone as well.0
