Hi Newdiamond. You've made a find coming on the boards, I've been sat here all week on this board as it helps me talk about things that are running through my mind (I went BR on Monday) Br isn't something you can talk openly about to anyone and bottling things up really doesn't help does it. Ask the daftest of questions on here, I do! Any thing that runs through my mind I post and I do it because it helps me deal with it.

I called national debtline charity who guided me through the options, bankruptcy was right for me and i'm so pleased I have done it.

If you fid the BR is the right course of action for you with the help of the professionals then please don't worry about the actual court proceedings. I was a nervous wreck ad very nearly cried infront of the judge. I held it together because everyone was lovely, calm, non judemental. They injected humour where needed to lighten the load. I was only in with the judge for 30 seconds and all he needed to know was that I sought professional finacial advice and I was aware of the repurcussions of BR.

The phone still rings but let it, it's not my problem anymore, all I do is quote my case number and give contact details of the Official Reciever.

I know I have rambled on but I wanted to put your mind at rest about the process (although I am only 5 days into it!) and wanted to tell you that I have absolutely no regrets, the sense of relief is immense.

If it's right for you, you have the support, help and friendship of everyone on here. I would be lost totally this week if it wasn't for the board .

Hi Lost, I am always around but not always posting. I do pop in a few times a day to see what the crack is.

Newdiamond, please come back, we don't bite and will help you all the way. Lots of people post once then come back later, some may not get the response they were looking for or think that no one cares. This can happen for a number of reasons one of which is that this forum gets so overwhelmed, that a post can disappear off the page in minutes
If that happens you can post on the same thread you started and it will jump up to the top again.

Anyway hope to see you soon;)

Newdiamond, all I can say is don't be scared.

I went BR in June, and I have to say that eveyone involved could not have been nicer :) The court clerks were extremelly helpful and surprisingly respectful. The Judge was very kind and offered commiserations, but said we had done the right thing :)

The lady from the Insolvency Service who spoke to us on the phone at the court could not have been more helpful, and when we later had to attend for our face to face interview, the examiner could not have been nicer. Obviously, there were some difficult questions which he needed answers to, but he made every effort to listen to and understand the answers. I can honestly say that the Insolvency Service, certainly in my area seems to really want to provide as good a service as they are able to :) After having to endlessly deal with obnoxious creditor collection activity, you suddenly feel as if there are actually people on your side at last.

And then there is this forum :) which lets you know that you are not alone, and there are many who can help :)

Newdiamond as Hos has said, please keep posting. There are also quiet times on the forum, I've noticed at certain times in the evenings and certain times at weekends; I guess people are doing other stuff so don't give up if you don't get an immediate response but there is always someone around to help.

I'm more of a regular on the DFW board but pop over here from time to time as my OH went BR a couple of years back so might not be able to offer constructive advice but can help with support.

    Good luck and keep posting.
