Previous tenant's line still active - and I want Sky!

Afternoon all - after a bit of advice.
I'm moving house and in my previous place, I had Skytalk and Sky - nothing to do with BT (thank heavens).
I have moved into another flat and the phone line is active - in that I can call any number on it - so I am assuming the line is still ongoing in his name.
How do I go about switching it to Sky - do I speak to Sky to take it over in my name, BT to close the line in the old guys name or what?
Any help appreciated

This happened to me when I moved house. I phoned BT and they said the guy hadn't cancelled the line. They said they would do it but it would take a month before I could get my broadband on, and it did !travelover0

If you want Sky Talk you ask them to take line over.0
