Driveway issue

Options
Hi,

In July last year I spent £1500 on a new driveway which looked great. Sadly after only a year it is started to look weathered in a couple of areas and indeed the tarmac is slowly breaking up into little pieces. it is by no means a massive issue at the moment but could get worse.

I asked for the supplier (artisan driveways) to come and take a look as its not acceptable, he advised me that it was general wear and tear and there was nothing that that they were prepared to do to rectify the problem, even though there is a five year guarantee.

I'm stuck at what to do next, is there anyone else that I could refer this too. Artisan have said there is an issue but wear and tear after a year??? the spot where it has happend is not even in a used section of the driveway.

Any help appreciated

  • Get an independent Building Surveyor to have a look, but make sure they are RICS Registered, they will do a report which you can use to either negotiate or take the legal route if it is found to be faulty
