So we have battered out all the cd's we own, trawled endless sites looking for songs that fit with us and how we are and i think we have now finally chosen our 5 songs, would love some feed back to see what others think before we go off to the registry office and have them confirmed.
Guest assembly song - Wonderwall, Oasis
Entrance of Bride/Groom - Beautiful day, U2
Signing of register - Frog Chorus, Paul McCartney
Departing from service - With or without you, U2
First dance - Truly Madly Deeply, Savage Garden

They sound brilliant - (I hope none of them mention the word angel because you won't be allowed to have them).0

is that for real Horace? you're not allowed songs with the word angel in as part of the ceremony??!! We haven't started thinking of music much yet but I thought it meant you just weren't allowed to use hymns?0

Are you having pictures when you sign the register?
If so, I'd have a couple of other songs as back up as these things always take longer than you think and it means that your guests can be sitting there for some time after the music has finished."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -
I would not say Wiht or Without You is a good choice for leaving the ceremony... Just look up the lyrics and you'll see."Don't cry, Don't Raise your Eye
It's only teenage wasteland"
The Who - Baba O'Riley
Who's Next (1971)
RIP Keith Moon
RIP John Entwistle0 -
MRCOW- We are only having friends and family take photos so i dont really think it should drag on.
HORACE - afaik i dont think the word 'angel' crops up but we have rung the registry office and told tehm our song choices and they said they are ok.:j Was married 2nd october 2009 to the most wonderful man possible:j

Think it's because Angel would be classed as a religious reference which is a big no no for a registrars or any non church wedding. That is primarily why the registrars need to check the song's, similarly songs with heaven or halellullah wouldn't be allowed.Booo!!!0

jinky67 I started reading that and thought - I dont remember the frog chorus going like this.... OHHHhhhhhh it's the U2 Song.
I'm not so bright today. I love that song tho
"I know that Prince Charming doesn’t come save me, we save each other and fight back to back against all comers that’s what marriage is to me. Nothing passive, no being carried off on a white steed, give me my own damn horse and lets ride into the sunset side by side." - Laurell K. Hamilton.0
