Hong Kong International Airport

Hiya,

I have a 12 hour stopover at Hong Kong Int. mid-way through a flight from Sydney - London. I will be flying with Cathay Pacific.

Has anyone on this forum had a long stopover? Are you allowed to leave the airport? I'm thinking it might be worth checking out the city for a few hours. Would it be ideal to ring the airline to ask if I will be put up in a hotel? It did not mention this during the booking so I assume I won't be.

Thanks

  • Yes, you can leave the airport, and it is worth going down town. A day return trip on the airport train is 100HKD (about 7 quid)

Very, very unlikely you are eligible for hotel though...
