They Forged my PArking Ticket

I was unfairy ticketed in Matalan car park (also 5/6 other shops) because i stayed over the 2 hour max stay. Although after consulting MSE i realised they had not ticked the box to explain why i had been fined. This then made the ticket invalid.

I wrote twice for them to correct this and they eventually sent me a letter with my parking notice attached (photocopy). with a nice big tick in the box. I have the orriginal and can tell you there is no way that tick was done when issued as it would have gone through to the second copy like all the other information.

Obvioulsy i have written a letter telling them this is forged and how disgusted i am and sent a photocopy back.

Who do i report them to? and what if they keep hassling?
I get what i want. That isn't because i'm a brat or spoilt. It's because i'm determined, i work hard for it and i achieve my goals!

If you had done a bit more reading, you would have known that the above is a load of nonsense. You've not been fined. You have received an invoice, which has now been amended slightly so you understand it (and in the hope, of course, that you will pay it). Nothing has been "forged".

The reason they keep hassling you is because you wrote to them, and they now have you hooked. They want your money. Simple as that.

File it away, ignore them from now on, and get on with your life.

    Private Parking Companies (PPCs)
    (
    Read Martin's Article)

    1) PPC tickets (referred to by some as toilet paper :p) are NOT fines or fixed penalties, they are invoices based on a presumed contract with the driver.

    2) When posting, please don't mention your vehicle make/model or exact location and most importantly do NOT say who was driving. PPC trolls do read these and other forums and may try to use this information against you. Do not post any info that may identify you. It isn't usually necessary to post the 'ticket' from a PPC.

    3) PPC charges have been shown to be generally unenforceable in Court, and they hardly ever issue proceedings, despite the threats in their intimidatory letters.

    4) Do NOT write to the PPC to 'appeal' the ticket - the appeals process is a complete sham, they just want your money and thus will reject the 'appeal'.

    5) If you don't take action on the ticket, the PPC will get the registered keeper's details from the DVLA, for a fee of £2.50. The registered keeper has no liability, since the presumed contract was formed with the driver. And, if you don't tell the PPC who was driving, they don't have a case.

    6) Opinions vary on this point, but generally the best advice is to ignore all correspondence they send you, and they will give up after 5 or 6 scary looking letters.

Just file away any new letters from the company and get on with normal things. They are un-enforceable invoices and no-one has ever been taken to court.
