Help raise money for Cancer Research UK
Options
I am taking part in my first Race for Life charity fundraiser for Cancer Research UK and I would be really grateful if anyone would sponsor me. My sponsorship page is http://www.raceforlifesponsorme.org/sclayton and I would be grateful if you would take the time to have a look. It takes place on 23rd July in Gillingham, Kent and I am hoping to jog for the whole 5k!!.
My mum was diagnosed with breast cancer last year and I want to do my "bit" and help raise some money for a really good cause. :T
thank you!! :rotfl:

What benefits have cancer sufferers received from millions of money being donated to Cancer Research? I have cancer myself which is incurable so I have an interest. Aren't the drug companies researching cancer as well? Is it really money well spent? I am just a bit sceptical as you can see because of the lack of significant progress but I am willing to listen to any arguments that make a good case for Cancer Research. It's great to be ALIVE!0

Hi good luck for the race for life. I am currently training (lol) for my second. Ran the whole course last year and was so proud of my achievements raising double the money I had expected to make at first. It's a great thing to do.
I also am naturally sceptical about charitable donations, but do feel that people are out there trying to make a difference with the resources they are given.0 -

My mum was diagnosed with breast cancer and without the help of charities like Cancer Research UK there would have been no drugs available to her to take and her life expectancy would be nil. I don't support many charities but thought that this charity has done so much in its reasearch of cancer I felt it was worthwhile me taking part to raise money.
