Hi all,
I was just wondering if anyone thought this quote was fair? I live in the East Midlands and am doing some work (actually alot of work) on my house. We are wanting to have the old back boiler replaced with a new condensing boiler. I have a friend who works for a well known boiler company and has got me a bargain on brand new condensing boiler. We are having a new kitchen built and it is to go in there.
I have had a quote for the following:
Install 30CXI boiler (I'm suppying)
Re-pipe heating system
Supply and fit 1 x Double rad 1100x600, 1 x Double rad 1400x600 and 1x Single rad 1200x600
Re-fix an existing rad to another wall
Fit new TRVs and valves to all rads
Add fernox Inhibtor and Certificate.
Extend the cold water main to new kitchen.
Total £2380
This doesn't include second fix to Bathroom and Kitchen.
What do you think is this fair as it seems a bit steep to me?
Thanks in advance

Good morning: Have you already bought the Glow-worm, checked out prices online to see if you are getting a bargain as the CXi isn't an expensive boiler? This boiler has short warranty... the OH stopped fitting them after concerns about reliability (No offence to the good people of Belper as he installs Vaillant)
In regard to the price, get another quote in and compare specifications like for like. Converting a BBU to a sealed system is a labour intensive propositon and the repiping/new rads will bump up the cost as well. Whoever you get in check his/her registration on Gas Safe Register , ensure the installation is notified to Building Control and make the install is to Glow-worm specs.

Thanks for the advice, I have checked the prices and we are getting it for £590, with Std Flue and Plume Mgment included. This seemed quite reasonable compared to what my builder and another plumber could get it for.
I am just waiting for another quote to come back, but wanted to see what people thought of this one first. Both are Gas safe registered. Will do on the rest, thanks
Thanks again, all help is appreciated.0 -
it seems a tad expensive for the NW when you are supplying the boiler.
but probably cheap for say london prices.Get some gorm.0
