    Hi update as follows

I telephoned BT and queried as to how the increased bill was calculated. I was put on hold for a while and then told that they were able to return the direct debit to the original £45 immediatley which was a pleasant surprise as I was expecting a long and drawn out battle. The customer rep was very polite and no problem at all

So a successful outcome in the end however I would say that the way the DD was increased for no good reason in the first place is still completely out of line and gives a really poor impression from my side.

Thanks for all the advice it was really helpful
