Can anyone help with what I can do regarding a dvd box set I bought from smartpend cash back site. The link they gave me was for sendit.com the dvd arrived and had duplicate discs from series 2 but missing discs from series 1. I did not keep the receipt that came with it but on my bank statement it clearly states that sendit.com took the payment. Sendit.com are saying they have no record of any transaction to my address and that I need to contact smartspend. Smartspend are saying it is the retailers problem and to contact them. This has now been going on for 6 weeks. Just wanted to know if there is anything I can do or have I lost my hard earned cash by foolishly throwing away the receipt.

Didn't they send you e-mail confirmation?
As sendit.com have taken the payment, I would have thought that you are their resposibility. Try calling them again with references from smartspend if possible.
At worst you could do a creditcard chargeback?0 -
Sorry to be harsh, but why the hell do people throw away receipts, especially so soon after receiving goods

Nowhere in the legislation does it state that you need a receipt. The legislation DOES say that if requested by the trader you should be able to provide a reasonable proof of purchase. In that case, a bank / CC statement showing the transaction with Sendit is ample proof.0
