Lump in Labrador

    Labradors are lumpy dogs once they get to 'middle age'. :)

    Mine got checked out last year. Vet put a fine needle into lump and drew a bit out and confirmed it was a fatty lump.

    Do you know about this forum for lab owners?

    Well been to vets...
    She is didnt think the needle aspiration would be the best option as the results dont always show the full problem.
    Thought the lump may be attached to nipple so could therefore be a mammary tumour.He is having op to take it out tomorrow.Will be about a week for results...looking at about £300 if things go according to plan.

    ggod luck for doggo's op tomorrow - let us know how he goes on. Lots of mammary tumours are benign, so fingers crossed for a good outcome! I know your mum was worried about the GA - my old dog had a GA at about 15 years old, and sailed through it, so it can be done!

    Fingers crossed for tomorrow my lab had 3 cancerous lumps removed 2-3 years ago now and she's still going strong. Please don't be too upset everything will be fine.

    Vet said about 20 mins.Paying extra to have it done by laser as apparentely better recovery and quicker op...

    Hes had op and back home recovering well....They found another lump but are waiting for the results on the one they have removed as will possibly be the same thing. Hopefully benign as rare in males.............
    Now its just the waiting.

    Results not good,Vet rang mum yesterday with results its some kind of rare tumour(she didnt really take it all in) they think they got it all but did spot another lump but left it to see what the original was.Going back next week for needle aspiration....
    He still happy as ever and enjoying all the usual stuff.
