Ooh, you bargain glamorous queen of the bargain spotters. £6.98 - bargain and a half!!! Edinburgh always seems to have more bargains, though (we tend to have over inflated prices quite a lot of the time - hence why I'm such a bargain hunter - it's knowing where to look).
About the cereal bowl, I originally saw a dinner set very similar to this in Debenhams for £20 (was £40). I was hoping it would go to 70% (yep, I'm proud to be a miser), not just stick at the 50% mark, and it was Mr Tibbs who quite rightfully pointed out that the cereal bowl was not deep enough. This was one of the considerations (as well as price and beautiful design) that made us choose the Sainsbury's set.
As an aside: It's amazing how they can get the temperature resistance to be so high for the material of the splashback. Technology - isn't it brilliant. Must be a dream to clean, though.
What a centre piece for your kitchen. It's like a work of art.Invented tradition: Couponology

What unfortunate middle names. Perhaps he'd be better off with this set.

This is the type of set he will be threatened with if he doesn't take care of this set.
The last set were chipped within a few days, and he said that they had to be used (they weren't just for display) and that it was just wear and tear. He said that I expect everything to last a lifetime when, in actual fact, the reality of the Tibbs' household is that I would prefer things to last as long as possible, i.e. more than a few days.
Other than that, he is perfect, so I can't complain.Invented tradition: Couponology

I seriously considered the plastic set there for a minute, but then thought about the time when he placed a hot pan over a plastic container in the sink, and then thought no matter what the material, I still need a spare set...lol.Invented tradition: Couponology

If its non-chip you are looking for Tesco are selling a set of 8 square black and white floral paper plates for £2

They also have a matching serviettes 20 for £1.50.0 -
He'd probably manage to set them on fire, or try to wash them (making them soggy and useless).
He's really a highly intelligent man, but not with practicalities. Gadgets, yes - everything else - hmmmm.Invented tradition: Couponology

I purchased direct from store, but displayed link online to show details of product.
Found the following freephone numbers:
Sainsbury’s Careline Tel. 0800 636 262
Sainsbury’s Online Tel. 0800 328 1700
If a store delivery service is not an option, you could call the careline, and ask for them to check the stock of the individual store, bearing in mind that their computerised records do not account for possible damages that have yet to be processed and taken out of the system.
HTH
Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance.
Thanks for this sorry it took me a few days to check back. :-)0 -
Oooh my stuff have just been delivered, that was quick. Thanks again Tibbs I'd never of spotted the bargain otherwise.
Now if I could just get my hands on that splashback Edinburghlass has in her kitchen I'd be one happy bunny.

Somehow I think that would be beyond my price reach. Really like it, though. Wouldn't mind it myself.
Ooh, I'm so enjoying being back on threads with posts from nice peeps. Makes a difference from some of the threads I've had to endure lately. Gone now, though and I'm so glad.Invented tradition: Couponology

I've received mine as well and they're much nicer than the boring plain white ones I've been using!
Thanks again Tibbs
