ICICI Bank

I have opened a ICICI Bank account while looking at my online bank account which is linked to the ICICI bank account I noticed I had two Direct Debits for ICICI. I did not open them so I wrote to ICICI and asked them why there were two Direct Debits against my account. ICICI wrote back here is the text of there reply;
Please be informed that the reason we have two direct debits set up against your linked current account is to prevent any delay in funds transfer. The second direct debit is a back up for the first one.
I have never heard this before and this has caused some concern. Can anyone tell me if this is a normal practice of ICICI bank?

I haven't noticed this on mine, but I arranged a transfer from my linked current account on 13 April and noticed that today the funds still have not left my current account. What a carry on to get some sense- the account no with ICICI is not an account no according to the lady I was speaking to, I told her I was looking at my details on line as we spoke and it was. She went away for ever then came back to say she could not access my account so would I ring back later. I now have to go all through this again, and I know I definitely did the transfer.He who laughs last thinks slowest.
I wished the buck stopped here as I could use a few.

I gave up trying to use their direct debit system a long time ago after running into problems. I now make all my payments into the account by BACS.0
