    Indeed, a 12 volt battery, is a 12 volt battery, I have jump started no end of cars like this, never any problems.

    Yep, just a physically bigger battery, still 12 v, but with more capacity. As said it will only supply what the starter demands.

    To be honest there should be no argument as to whether the battery is good or not. Stick the headlights on press the horn and if all is ok and the dash lights don't dim, the battery if fine. Sounds like the starter needs "bench" testing.

    its a massive merc with a battery over twice the size of hers


    so yes, it wont be too good for it

    seeing as he tried it lots of times

    in that case then the first thing i would do is go and buy a new battery.:rolleyes:

    A 12v battery is a 12v battery regardless of what vehicle it is in.

    I'd get a multimeter acrosss the battery terminals first, to see what voltage is there. Then try starting it and see what voltage is there.
