    More cars and more debt.

Just what we need right now.

Second time you have wrote that.

Could you explain how removing one car from the road and scraping it, then replacing it with a new one = more cars?

    At school 1-1 always = 0:confused:

PS have you got the figures on how much debt it as caused?

I think it's more cars being created he's talking about....something we don't actually need....hence the stimulus.

What we don't need car companies..

It was to stimulate buying cars and to trader older less econmical ones for newer ones and keep the car industry afloat.

Did you find how many were purchased on dealer finance Graham because no one on your other post used it.;)

Not one "more" car as been added to the road as part of the scheme. FACT (as the bears like to say)

    Sigh.

Did I say that? What we don't need is the amount of cars being produced. Car companies would just get smaller naturally, thats all, they would still be there. It's jobs were holding up, not the car companies per se.

Before I answer, when I was in school, it was "written". ;)

New, uneccessary cars being newly made when there are already hundreds of thousands lying idle.

I would guess that a large majority are bought on credit.
The same as most consumer spending during the last decade of our phoney economy.

Production had stopped pre Christmas for most. The have only just started to manufacture again due to the scheme.

Credit Graham did this the other day and nearly every one paid cash(:rotfl:) with mainly over 45's taking advantage so they can run a new car for another 10y+ again:)

Please use facts as it is well known what has happened to car manufacturing, also your own ideas on how they have been funded are much like Graham's. Based on 0% FACT:)

They will. But they al risked collapse, did you not realize or did you just want people to lose their jobs.

What FACTUAL harm as the scheme caused.

For someone obsessed by facts, you should know better than to keep twisting things into what you WANT us to say.

The government should not get involved with propping up failing businesses.

If car manufacturers cannot sell their cars, then they must either reduce the price, build cars that people will buy, or whatever is necessary for a private company to attract customers.

Public money should not be used.
Which other companies are to be chosen to live or die on the whim of a disgraced, unelected government minister?

This !!!!!!-for-brains idea is not the answer to a failing economy.

Small government and sound money is the answer.
