What's this about?
Martin is making an ITV1's Tonight programme for September about thrift. As part of it one family is going to be given a full scale thrift makeover, showing people how to live their lives the thrifty way.
Who are they looking for?
A family who currently don't use any thrift techniques, who live a convenience lifestyle and are looking or needing to radically cut back on thrift expenditure.
What is thrift?
Don't confuse thrift with MoneySaving. MoneySaving is about cutting bills without cutting back and playing the system. Thrift is MoneySaving Old Style, it's about changing your lifestyle too - reusing, growing and making things e.g. using white vinegar to clean the house, it's a more radical change.
Considering taking part...
If you think you fit the bill please contact katie.godfrey@itv.com with your name, address, phone number and some basic details
Do remember doing this involves you and your family being on the TV and talking about how you currently do things and the change - if you're not prepared to be on TV, then sadly you can't volunteer.
If it's not for you then check out the Thrifty ways book and the Old Style MoneySaving board
