October holiday

Hope this is on the right board, apologies if not. We are planning on taking a holiday for 2 weeks mid to end October, 2 adults with children of 13 and 10. Any suggestions of where to go? Definitely need somewhere hot, with a decent beach, and plenty for the kids to do. Thought about Kenya, but not sure on the weather then, or whether the kids would have enough to do. OH is thinking of Aruba. Anyone got any pointers or suggestions?

Unrelated to the place of holiday - but isn't 2 weeks in mid-to-end October taking a chunk out of school term time? I was under the impression this was now breaking the law unless you have express permission of the head teacher?0

It crosses the half term week, so only five days out of school and yes, we have headteacher's permission0

So is it illegal then to take holidays in term time now.0
