dodgy debt writeoff firms being closed down- did ANYONE get theirs cancelled?

As seen in the news, the Ministry of Justice says its been closing down, and warning against, the various 'get your credit card debt cancelled' type firms that have sprung up in past year or so.
They target the ost vulnerable, using high pressure or misleading sales tactics, and demand high fees UP FRONT, but there is little or no chance of getting your debts cancelled .
did ANYONE get their debts stopped on here, iwonder, or was it all another big con?

I have learnt over the years that anytime a company approaches you its either going to be more expensive than you could get elsewhere, or a scam.
Never buy from a sales approach EVER!!!
Do your research and select companies you do business with wisely, based on reputation and value for money.0 -
It's a cruel irony that the people trying to shirk out of repaying the money they requested (and happily spent) have ended up even more out of pocket.
Glad to see them go though.0 -
you cannot just cancel debts, you either renegotiate payments or get a ccj.
obvious scams.0 -

The rule for testing anyone promising to save you money..........
.............suggest that they take their fee AFTER they succeed.
Strangely many scammers, sorry advisors go away once this is suggested to them....0
