Mmm.. Not sure about service charges. The council tax you should still pay and once repossessed claim an exemption for an empty property - that I know - but not about service charges.
I would have assumed that you could stop paying them. Its a debt like any other really. And besides, as your exHB is still on the mortgage let them chase him for them.....0 -
He he...I am likely to get on my soapbox
Why is it that "family" tickets are always for two adults and two children . Why are children legally children until they are 18, but charged for as adults when they are 16 .
"Hello, please can a buy a family ticket for you very enticing attraction?" ...."I am sorry sir, you will need a family ticket plus an extra adult ticket and and extra child if you wan't to come in"
{{{jumps off soapbox befor he really gets going}}}}
And thats the easy bit.
It's the "haven't you got a telly" Gwaff Gwaff - I am the first person to ever ask you that question Gwaff Gwaff...... I really hate that.
I have several soapboxes too but as your family (I guess) is older than mine (as in kids ages, not you!!) I'll borrow some of yours!0 -
Oh, did I neglect to mention exhb is currently away for the weekend AGAIN! He's had a fair few this past few months. Paid for by 'friends'.
How do i get a friend like that? He's the biggest skank I've ever known. There used to be a street named after Chuck Norris, but it was changed because nobody crosses Chuck Norris and lives.0 -
Soap boxes, don't get me started! my daughter has multiple food allergies-A bag of pasta costs me £2 and a box of cereal £3. That's the tip of the iceberg. She is allergic to most food groups buy only gets bread on prescription. This being because she doesn't have one of the 'mainstream' conditions such as coeliacs diesase. (oh no, that would be a walk in the park compared to her restrictions)

I too hate the "telly" joke....if I am feeling particularly narked, I usually reply with "I have one now - didn't have much choice after the operation" and then watch as they squirm, trying to work out if I am serious of not.
I have to admit to being a later in life dad. My eldest is 16 with the next at 12, then 9, and then two and a half! At 47, there are those who like to remind me that I am likely to be retired by the time my youngest leaves full time education. :eek:BSC 2710 -

Don't ever give up fighting. A very good friend of mine has a severely disabled son. She has fought since he was two, and is only now just getting the help and support she needs; he was 10 a few weeks ago.
She has found that she has to absolutely ruthless. Almost every letter gets copied to her MP, and where agencies are involved, she names the individuals. It really does seem to be the case that those who make the most noise get the most attention, and she has finally got good at making the right kind of noise. All the best

Shall never give up, if I'm not going to crusade for her rights then no-one else will!

Hi again, have another soa thread going at the moment but am absolutely driving myself insane with so many uncertainties. Please could you clarify for whether you think I should:
stop paying all creditors now or just pay £1 token payments?
Inform NR I'm not paying anymore and let them go forth and repo?
Move out now and start renting and apply for LHA? (when they repo)
Skylight-please can you have a look at my soa on other thread? Figured I would make a beeline for you as you were so kind to me the other night. Will post a link for you. There used to be a street named after Chuck Norris, but it was changed because nobody crosses Chuck Norris and lives.0 -

Sorry I didn't post back here yesterday, got stuck into my soa and getting over the shock of it.
Spoke to CCCS and they said that yes, BR the only viable option.
tbh the main sticking point in all of this is what to do about the mortgage/rent for new place.-If I wait for them to repo and simultaneously stop paying creditors, I will most likely incur a CCJ by the time NR repo. (or sale as it is on the market) This will make renting impossible. The flipside is if I dont wait and go ahead and rent I can't apply for LHA as I will still be a homeowner.
I am in a real bind over this issue, just battle worn trying to get my head around it.There used to be a street named after Chuck Norris, but it was changed because nobody crosses Chuck Norris and lives.0 -

stop paying all creditors now or just pay £1 token payments? Stop paying them now and save all money for going BR and towards your rental deposit, moving out etc.
Inform NR I'm not paying anymore and let them go forth and repo? You can tell them now or when you move out and send the keys back to them.
Move out now and start renting and apply for LHA? (when they repo) You can move out before they repo if you have hte money together entirely up to you. You may find it easier to rent before you go BR.
