Change your phone numbers first (claim harrassment calls...) and then stop paying them all. Save the funds you would pay; if possible as I know life still goes on, kids need shoes, school uniforms, potentially unexpected 100 mile round trips to pick then up from cadet camp as they are crying and missing home........ and so on!

Yes, funny how every parent has a story like that to tell......

What, seriously stop paying everything? Does that mean by the time NR repo me I would probably have enough defaults to worry the Beckhams! Do I need to tell NR of my plans?

As Tim mentioned, its your call. But if you are definitely chosing BR then paying any creditor is a waste of money. Without wanting to sound rude, but on your salary and a quick estimate I can tot up about outgoings, then you probably are not paying them a lot at the moment anyway - either that or your child is barefooted and hungry!!!!!

And in BR, a default or 10 is the least thing to worry about!

Again, telling NR about your plans is your call. They are likely to step up their game if they think you are going BR (so they recoup some money). But on the flip side they may action stuff faster for you. Make sure you change phone numbers first so they cannot hassle you and ensure its ex-directory and you hide the number at the exchange and only give it to important people.

Yes, stop paying everything, and as Skylight says, give the cash to someone else to look after. If you are repo'd and then declare BR, defaults will be the absolute last of your worries :)

Don't tell NR of your plans. The best thing for you would be for them to drag their heels over the repo, which would enable you to save up even more to make the transfer to rented smoother.

I am a dad of four, so I know just what you mean about sudden emergencies! ;)

You are anything but rude, I'm just grateful for all the advice!
I was just worrying (for a change) about renting with all the defaults that would've piled up by then?

And what is a 'proveable' debt exactly?
I am so scared, I can think of nothing else.

Oh right, I didn't know that. Thanks. I will be on the phone to CCCS first thing in the morning.

It is such a scary prospect-changing number, cancelling dd's-like something out of 24! I shouldn't joke but having a sense of humour is keeping me from crumbling altogether and wailing like a baby....

Sorry, another question....Should I also stop paying the service chage on property? It's leasehold. Not really sure about this one?

He he...I am likely to get on my soapbox ;) Why is it that "family" tickets are always for two adults and two children . Why are children legally children until they are 18, but charged for as adults when they are 16 .

"Hello, please can a buy a family ticket for you very enticing attraction?" ...."I am sorry sir, you will need a family ticket plus an extra adult ticket and and extra child if you wan't to come in"

{{{jumps off soapbox befor he really gets going}}}} :D
