Remedial work

I can't find out what is meant by this.
It's in an ad for a house which is going cheap, and from the pics it looks like it will need a few new windows, etc.
Does "remedial work" mean anything specifically related to the structure of a house (For example does it mean I'm going to pay through the nose to get stuff fixed?).
I'm willing to do some DIY for most of the simple tasks. New kitchen, bathroom, maybe put the windows in.
So basically is this cheap house worth even looking at?

You'll never know 100% without asking and a survey - could mean a world of things.0

Remedial work is stronger than "some updating required", could be anything from underpinning to complete new roof and timbers.
Whether it is a viable project or not, who knows? If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0 -
Could mean installing a DPC.0

It could mean almost anything but remedial meaning to remedy does suggest that there is a problem to be solved more than replacing a tired kitchen.
Go and look at it or simply ask the agent.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

It can also mean something's been done, but bodged. e.g if work was done without planning permission/building regs and it's really not up to scratch so needs to be done properly to be legal/safe.
Maybe there's a single storey single-skinned DIY extension or two... could be anything though.0
