Happy memories - my first 2 cars were 2CVs - lots of breaking down, lots of adventures, lots of fun!
There used to be a club called 2CVGB - in the days before the internet they sent out a magazine with ads in for buying / selling 2CVs and parts. I presume if the club is still going, that they will have a website.

Sounds lovely, am very tempted!
I had a quick google - here's the 2CV club website www.2cvgb.co.uk they have a forum and I would say it is definitely worth posting on their forum.
Sigh - like I said , brings back happy memories of my student days; driving round Birmingham a couple of days before Christmas with a Christmas tree sticking out of the open roof; a 4 day trek from Berlin to Dover; struggling for miles in 1st gear up over a very steep Lake district mountain pass; trying to get the damn thing started with the starting handle; sticking bits that fell off back on with chewing gum and bits of string etc.The independent woman's checklist for success :1.
