Hotpoint nonsense!

My washer dryer broke down so took out a £160 one year policy with hotpoint, a few days later they sent an engineer round. It wasnt drying clothes anymore and was leaking a small amount of water on the floor when washing. I told him this.
He was here for ten minutes, said yep it needs a new heater but you can still use it for washing. He said I will be back next thursday with the new part.
I thought a week I can manage without a dryer but at least I can still wash clothes. After he had gone I put a wash on and ten minutes later walked into my kitchen to find the entire floor flooded with suds everywhere. I immediately phoned hotpoint who said the engineer was no longer in the area (despite having left less than half an hour ago) and the earliest he could come back was next thursday!
I kept explaining that I was now without a washing machine for a week, and that the only clean towels I had left had been used to mop up the leak. neither "assistant" really cared (you could hear it in their voice) eventually a woman said she would put me on a priority list and someone might come monday. Phoned up today and was told no one is coming tommorow but on thursday, I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told someone would ring me back, no one did.
So I pay £160 for an engineer to come round and make the machine worse? Hotpoint could not care less that me hubby and baby are without a washer or dryer for another week, we have work uniforms that we are currently febreezing and I had to buy some new babygros too.
I am utterly dissapointed and disgusted and when the guy comes back on thursday eh will get an earful!

Can you wash by hand or use a launderette? I just washed everything by hand when my machine broke down (family of five and the little one was a baby at the time).
This weather is ideal as you can just wring things out roughly and drip dry on the line. Here I go again on my own....0 -
hi Beccles thanks for your reply. I can't drive and there isn't a launderette for around 4 or 5 miles and I can't lug all the washing and my buggy on two buses! We don't have a bath, we have one of those showers where it's like a big box you stand in, and we don't have a washing line either! the only people we know in our area live about a five minutes walk from us so normally i would ask if we could use their machine, but they are on holiday in australia! so I really am stuck! what annoys me is they keep saying he can't come til thursday cos he needs the heater part, but i keep explaining that he doesnt need a part to fix a leak! in fact it was much worse after he had examined it! I am getting nowhere talking to the customer service people and just can't see how we are going to manage until thursday0
