I am using a Dell Vostro 1700 laptop (using Vista) and a Hewlett Packard Deskjet 720 Printer. I have bought a USB to Parallel Printer cable to enable me to print from my laptop but when I try to print document it is showing it as a XPS document and I am unable to print.
Any help would be appreciated.

Has the printer been recognised by Vista? HP's usually need softrware/drivers to be installed....0
