Interestingly enough I got an email from Moneysavingexpert with the following link:
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1142710/Millions-face-stealth-tax-heating-bills-subsidise-green-energy.html
Instead of fitting a gas boiler perhaps fitting an air source heat pump? As the article says, last year Gas went up by 59% and electric by 26%. As we will be susidising the governments green move perhaps we ought to expect similar rises in the future. We can all moan and groan but after reading this and seeing the TV clips I think the government has well and truly put its green foot down on fossil fuels forcing us to change our outlook on energy.0 -
its funny how the high price merchants always ramble on about the boiler quality. yet the difference is approx 500 quid between an average boiler and a top make boiler.
BG seems to think a half decent boiler costing an extra 500 quid means an extra 2/3/4/5k (take your pick) in fitting charges.Get some gorm.0 -
Totally agree with you there. I guess there is a bit of complacency there, either that or their using their name and reputation as one of the biggest gas specialists in the country or their trying to make a few extra £££. Im not saying they would do a bad job, I wouldn't be surprised if they wouldn't sub contract the job to a local engineer who would do exactly the same job for 1k less.0
