    The massive advance in technology and the subsequent "creature comforts" we now enjoy have come on the back of cheap oil and an economic system shaped by the assumption that cheap and abundant oil would always be around.

    We have reached a point where population growth, finite resources, environmental awareness, technolgy and economics have clashed and our current models are unsuitable.

    We need to find a way to reconcile our current way of life with the fact that the earth can no longer support us in that fashion.

    These problems are massive. Which is why I think that we are living through a period that will be seen as a momentous time in history. On a par with the industrial revolution.

    When the dust settles in about 10-15 years, things will never be the same again.
