One last thing. When I copy and paste the formula down the column, it puts £0.00 in all the boxes. Is it possible for them not to be there until that row is filled in? :think:

One way would be to hide zero values.
Using 2007
Tools / Options / Advanced
Un-check 'Show a zero in cells that have a zero value'
In 2003
Tools / Options / General (??From memory)
Un-check a description that is similar to above.0 -

You could also amend your formula:
=IF(C3="";0;IF(OR(C3="Qualifier";C3="Arb";C3="casino offer");H3-D3;H3))0
