  • Yeah, just set it to come on through keypress rather than movement and you should be fine.

I think you had to press the Magic button and wait for the rabbit. The I think it was 989 to change the activation settings. If it blinks twice it's on movement and if it blinks four times it's keypress.

This is from memory so I may be wrong. You can definately set them though. It;s in the instruction book anyway.

    HTH

I just dug the book out. The number is 989. So all those wanting to change - see above!
  • I just got in to work, a little late, but i went out to buy a remote control. and i got this one

    http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=38023&TabID=1&source=15&WorldID=&doy=29m12

Its a Sunwave 8 in 1. It seems to have all the same stuff as the All in one remotes but more.
    stay lucky!
    Steve.
  • This was the same for me, but i am super lazy.

I haven't tried it yet, but i got a old remote from another brand of TV, as my place has a load of Remote Control light Switchs. So 1 for Kitchen, 2 for Dinning room, etc.

So long as the remote can learn, it will be my friend.
I intend not to move from my seat..... if only cold beer in your hand can be controlled by a remote !

Oh yeah, i got mine from Mapin. £33, as i little brother is a student and carries one of those NUS cards
    stay lucky!

  • Hi All,

I have the KAMELEON 6 in 1 and it's really good.

Worked straight away with my TV, and Video (codes were in the book). My Stereo and DVD player are a little older so weren't listed in the book. However I phoned the help line and they game me the codes over the phone. I think it was a free phone number too.

I agree, they eat batteries if you don't keep them on a flat surface like a table. If its on the arm of the sofa and you move, it comes on. In fact, when I first got it, it went through batteries so fast I phoned the help line to complain. They said it might be faulty and to send it back, which I did. I then recieved a new one 2 days later in the post. Execellent customer service IMHO.

Anyway, £25 is a real bargain, get one...you won't regret it.

Why the hell has it taken 18 months for me to find out I could turn off the movement sensor?! ::)

I read the manual when I got it and don't remember seeing this, but I suspect back then I didn't pay much attention since I didn't anticipate how annoying and expensive it would be!

Can't do it now since I'm at work but first thing in the morning it's bye bye movement sensor, hello longer battery life, hurrah! ;D

Hmm just had a look at the instruction manuals on the One For All website and whilst the activation by keypress function is listed in the manual for the 4-device version on offer, it is NOT mentioned in the manual for the 6-device version that I have!   :(

Still I'll try the code (which is indeed 989) in the morning to see if it has any effect..  :-/

    It doesn't work! :'(

I've e-mailed One For All to ask if there's any way to do it on the Kameleon 6. :-/
