Yep.....This combination works for me too....although I generally put all the ingredients in a mug, pour in boiling water and allow it to infuse before drinking (minus the 'bits').0 -

My GP told me to gargle with soluble paracetamol before swallowing it, tastes foul but it really works!0

I would see your GP if you are having trouble swallowing. Self help remedies that I find effective are gargling with soluble paracetamol and salt (not together) in warm/hot water.0

Another vote for gargling with salt water. I think I heard somewhere that sage tea is good to drink if you have a sore throat. Hope you feel better soon!0

Yep, gargling warm salty water 4 times a day, I've never had a sore throat lasting for more than 1 day if I have gargled.0

my mums friend swears by marshmallows,i have no idea why!!!0

Gargle disprin / soluable aspirin (obviously only for over 12's and those not allergic!) The gargling coats the throat giving immediate relief then swallowing puts the painkiller in your system.0

I swear by hot lemon, honey and cloves. Dont know why it works but the cloves act as a natural painkiller/antiseptic.
2tbs lemon juice
2tsps clear honey
10 cloves
Add the lemon juice, honey and cloves together in a mug, pour boiling water over until the watercomes 1/4 of the way up. Leave to stand for about 10mins. Add more boiling water and drink while still hot.
I swear your throat will feel better the next day!!:Dtotal airhead, total bimbo, very superficial:D0
