Just seen post #10, above my previous post - in which case, also add a good dosage of cream cleaner to that bath full of water, while it is running.Everybody is equal; However some are more equal than others.0

Bicardbonate of soda and vinegar are supposed to be good for clearing drains. I used it myself last week when my shower wasn't draining properly.
Take half a cup of bicarb of soda and pour it down the plughole. Same amount of vinegar and pour it down. That'll fizz. Leave it an hour. Pour boiling water down.
I found it tricky getting the bicarb down the plughole, but I'd used an old individual plastic dessert pot (e.g. yoghurt pot/similar) to measure it out, so I simply placed this over the pile of bicarb and was "rubbing" it back and forth over the plughole to make the bicarb go down.
When you pour the vinegar down it fizzes ... that's normal and don't worry.
I used white vinegar, but any brown/chippy vinegar should do.0 -
Have just checked the demon room again and whilst the smell has gone thankfully the bath full of bleach and water does not seem to be removing the stains at all not one bit in three hours
. I was hoping to see a bit of improvement by now i mean the bath is covered in these marks arghhh maybe i should just rip the thing out and put us all out of our misery

Other than reducing the cleaning efficiency of both, and so pointless, and getting a bit warm, I don't see why people seem to think mixing the two is in someway dangerous.
Bleach and ammonia, that's different.0 -
Please read my post properly.Little_Vics wrote: »OMG - NEVER mix bleach and caustic soda. NEVER. PLEASE be careful.
Nowhere in my post did I suggest mixing them.
I said fill bath full of hotwater and bleach, let it drain - then pour a kettle of scalding water down the plug, some caustic ssoda, and another kettle of scalding water.

sorry - quoting hubby he said the exothermic reaction of residue in the plug hole is enough to cause some damage. I'm only trying to prevent a possible accident, not having a go!0
