Stuffed by T Mobile!!!

I had a monthly contract with T Mobile that was due to end on 17 July this year. I rang their customer services department on 17 June to give one months notice of cancellation, and was told that would be sufficient and I may get a call from the cancellation department. Fast forward to this morning, and I find that my contract has still not been cancelled and in fact remains fully active. I am now told by their customer services that on the 17 June I was put through to the cancellation department - this is not true. The account is still active until I speak to these people apparently, so ringing up to cancel an account does not mean that the account is cancelled. Any advice welcome as I am being charged £27 a month for a service I haven't wanted for over a month!!!

Always confirm these things in writing, it makes it easier at this stage.

It is cancelled, so they are out of luck, but you have to be really hard to make them realise. Write now, confirm the details of your cancellation [dates etc] and tell them for the avoidance of doubt the contract is cancelled. Keep copies for when they send the debt collectors around.

They tell me that it is NOT cancelled, only the cancellation team can do this and as I haven't spoken to them. Talk about Catch 22!!
