Full HD has generally become accepted as 1080 lines
i'm going to be picky again. i would say a correct description would be that full hd means 1080p can be displayed. a tv that is not full hd can still display 1080 but only 1080i and not 1080p. only 1080p is considered to be full hd i believe.0 -

I am talking about NEW tvs. The vast majority of tvs will now allow 1080P content (Aside from the cheap tesco stuff etc):idea:0 -
Wrong, "Full" means 1080, EITHER i, or P.donnajunkie wrote: »i'm going to be picky again. i would say a correct description would be that full hd means 1080p can be displayed. a tv that is not full hd can still display 1080 but only 1080i and not 1080p. only 1080p is considered to be full hd i believe.0 -

Well, perhaps I live a sheltered life but I venture to suggest that you're unlikely to find a television that supports 1080p but not 1080i.
Don't laugh at banana republics. :rotfl:
As a result of how you voted in the last three General Elections,
you'd now be better off living in one.

No, but a set that only supports 1080i is still a "Full HD"0

Better not start talking about support for 24fps then...0

You could argue that all day as theres nothing offical to say what 'FULL HD' actually is
Personally I took it as 1080P and support for blurays 24fps, but id always check the spec first rather than taking it on retailers BS:idea:0 -
