NCO Files

I am hoping that someone can help me with this problem. I saved all the information I had on my previous laptop as it was being replaced. I thought all I had to do was transfer the files from the disk on to my new laptop - wrong!!
It turns out that because I had Nero (version 6) installed on my previous laptop that all my documents, photos etc were save as .nco files! Heavens knows why as I always save word documents in word, photos in jpeg and so on. Anyway, I have spent many a long hour trudging through forums etc trying to solve this problem but the only suggestion I can find is to use Nero restore. I have tried to load Nero 6 on my new laptop but it's not compatible therefore I haven't a clue what to do now.
I would be very grateful for any help or advice that anyone can offer.

Do you still have the original hard drive, you can transfer files from that directly and in many other way as well0

Thanks for your reply. No I'm afraid I don't have anything other than the disk I save my files to.0

Why don't you download the free 15 day trial version of Nero 9 on the new laptop:

As far as I can tell, the .nco format should be the same for Nero 6 onward, so it should be able to restore the files for you Ok.0 -
Ok I'll give that a go - I just stupidly thought I would need to use the same version of Nero to open the files!!
Mind you my head is now spinning with this as I've been trying to solve the problem since around 3 this afternoon. I think I'd best try your solution tomorrow when my head is not fit to burst.
I'll let you know if that works - fingers x'd

Or you could just rename the nco files to zip, and open them.Try saying "I have under-a-pound in my wallet" and listen to people react!0

It's not my intention to bump my own post but I just wanted to say thanks to all for the advice - I've finally managed to open my files in the correct format :j
Thanks a million
