No, house is timber frame...wall is 4' x 2' framing with structural grade ply on one side.

Its constructed as a structural wall, so should still be fine, I'm assuming the main supports are at 400 centres.

Can you confirm its structural timber? i.e. stress graded?

The centres are varied.......but are not greater than 400.

I've just checked and there is no marking on the ply that I can see to confirm it's stress graded.

    It's only the supporting walls that are 4" x 2" and have ply....all other walls are 3" x 2".

I meant the actual timbers in the wall not the ply, it sounds like it should be okay and the additional loading from the new bath is not going to be significant in the greater scheme of things.

Thanks again, I appreciate your thoughts. I'll use spreaders under the bath anyway just to help a little.
