Seller Unwilling to Sell

I placed a proxy bid on a PS2 pad which sold eventually for £6, a couple of quid off my max. bid.

I promptly paid via Paypal as I do with all the auctions I win but I also got this message from the seller:
I'm sorry but there is no way i'm selling this for
£6.50. I paid £30 for it like 3 weeks ago. Anyway we
could come to a deal?

This made me smile but I was soon angry as I realised that the £6 I paid is the average. I saw another pad go for £3 earlier but that's not the point.

I replied:
Are you kidding me!? I sold stuff for way cheaper, I had to accept that's the nature of eBay. Please don't take me for a fool, I think it's best if you talk with eBay as I brought this item the legal way and I have every right to buy it at that price.
If you aren't willing to send it then I'll have no choice but to raise a dispute with Paypal. For someone with 100% feedback, this is atrocious.

Tbh, I'm not sure what to make of it. I really wanted this particular pad to match my other transparent one but after getting sniped off two auctions last week, I'm getting quite annoyed at some of the eBayers there.

Thanks for reading and please share any advice you have.

You can't force the seller to sell, however you should consider reflecting your experience when you leave feedback to warn other potential buyers. I certainly would welcome a warning about any seller who is a bit too dim to use ebay , I wouldn't then waste my time bidding.

Wait to see what seller does next, if he just refunds then leave appropriate feedback to a non performing seller, if he doesn't immediately refund then assume he has changed his mind and goods are on their way. If after a week you don't receive the item then open a full paypal chargeback.

Doubt you'll get anywhere with your seller. Probably best to move on and try to win another one from a more reasonable seller.

I will definitely leave feedback, seller's refunded the money so I guess I'll move on.

Did they really type the word "like" into the sentence in that way? It's bad enough when people use "like" inappropriately in speech, but to type it?
