Hi
Please can someone help?
My O/H laptop is saying that it is infected (big time in my book!)
An alert is onscreen saying that we must download/install something to remove this threat asap!
A 'box' which is headed 'Windows Security Alert' with an orange logo(badge) is urging us to 'remove all'
We are running Avast and Zone Alarm but we have had no indication from them that anything is wrong.
It seems to be something to do with 'My computer Online Scan' but we haven't a clue what this is.
Please help and advise what we should do.
Any help would be appreciated muchly!

Don't download anything.
Use Ctl Alt Del all pressed together to open the task manager and end all the running tasks, this should stop all the nagging screens.
I had a similar 'Alert' earlier today and am currently scanning the PC with:-
Malwarebytes free version

Avira AntiVir Personal - FREE Antivirus

Thank you - so is it just a scam? Do I have to do anything to make sure its gone?0

Well yes it could be an attempt to trick you in to downloading a virus, worm, Trojan or similar nasty.
Update your anti virus/adware (Avast) and do a complete scan.0 -
Well done you for not simpley clicking on the link. It really is amazing how many people outthere are dumb-enough to click on through.Never Knowingly Understood.

Sounds like the one that asks for £60 for a life time subscription to some fake antivirus or antispyware, they then hit your credit card 3 times for that £60.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”
