Exporting HSBC statements into CSV, QIF or OFX?

Does anyone know if this is at all possible? I have looked at their help files and FAQs but couldn't find anything helpful:mad:.
Do I want it? ......Do I need it? ......What would happen if I don't buy it??????

You must be able to, Cap1 do it and Nationwide.

Have a search on Google the first time I did it I have to alter some file in windows but its quite a while back now and I cannot remember how to do it.

EDIT : you may get more help on this on the computer board, Techie.

Not sure, but I can and do export files directly in to MS Money from HSBC.

There is a drop down box to select the option.

But this seems to be only available for recent transactions and not for the previous statements as far as I can see.

Nope, I have just checked and it is possible to export older statements in QIF ... OFX and CSV.

Enter a date range at the bottom of your recent transactions screen. Then download as you normally would - the download will be from the date range you specified.

Yes but that only goes back a couple of months (not for older statements). I take it I won't be able to go back beyond that I guess.

If it would be of any benefit to others then I found that able2extract can be used to convert PDFs into CSV which can then be imported into money management software (albeit after a bit of tweaking and correction).

Very late but maybe someone will find it useful. Google HSBC prepare CSV statement. I can't add a link because I'm new.

Shame on HSBC for making this necessary.
