visit your gp, have a faecal sample taken, if fp an organism will be present, this information will go to your local council's eh dept who will then contact you. of course you can contact them first on suspicion of fp from the restaurant. They will also want to know what else you have eaten upto 2 weeks before because some organisms such as campylobacter have an onset of between 2-11 days.. from the organism they can assess if it could have come from this business, plus if they have any other cases that can be related..
so visit gp
contact eh dept.
that's bout it..
lots of different fp organisms have different onset times and different types of food can cause it.. its not always the last thing you have eaten.. in fact more often than not its something completely different.. also lots of viruses around, easy to pick up anywhere....

It just me and someone else ate the same seafood dish and have both become ill within 24 hours. Could be a bug I suppose, didn't want to make a fuss just in case but also don't want others getting ill too. I have emailed them just in case they have had anymore complaints.0

if 2 of you ate the same dish and became ill (assuming everyone else ate somthing different) it may be the food you consumed (was the other person someone you had been in close or regular contact with and could you have picked up the same bug!). i assumed i had FP once after an indian meal out with friends - i had somthing different to everyone else and they were fine .. the rice was not that hot and i assumed that was was caused me to spend 2 days throwing up and left me feeling washed out for a week. i did not see a dr as i assumed it was FP the next time i had an attack like this - no meals out was a few years later - and i woke up 2 days later yellow!! it turns out i had gallstones and the symptoms were exactly the same following the curry - i now wish i had seen a dr in the first instance as i was so ill and FP could have been ruled out and they may have saved me alot of hassle in finding the real underlying cause!Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. There is no more hope for a fool than for someone who says, "i am really clever!"0 -
Well I contacted head office of this particular restaurant (very well known chain). And they say no one else has complained of being ill from eating the seafood. But having a quick google it appears that isn't true (assuming everything you read on the net is true). Anyhow I have let them know so if others have complained they might take their Seafood off the menu to prevent anyone else getting ill.
Saying that, I feel fine today which makes me think it might be a 24 bug, and just a coincidence that me and other person ate the seafood.0 -
