Rogue Ads Warning!!!

A number of websites I visit frequently have been "hijacked" by rogue advertisements.
They appear to have started out as "attacks" on popular torrent sites, seemingly to prevent perfectly legal Torrent activity, but they're popping up all over the place now. There are even reports of these Ads on Facebook (via the applications) and other social networking sites!!!
Here are the the symptoms too look out for:
A site you know starts playing random audio (10-30second radio, TV and music clips).
When you click on a link or any button on the site, it tries to redirect your browser and you get a warning from IE or Firefox telling you so..... DO NOT click "ok". You will be redirected to a dodgy website.
You might not be able to close the browser window without clicking the "ok" button, I this case you need to use ALT+CTRL+DEL and end the process using the task manager.
When I came across this I thought i'd gotten a virus, but on investigation its definitely originating from certain adverts.
There is no 100% effective way to block these in IE, but the "adblock" extension for Firefox will stop these rogue ad's.

This has the potential to be a really big problem, especially if its appearing on Facebook and other social networking sites.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”
