FINAL UPDATE:

Thanks everyone for your support a manager has waived all charges due to the fact i was given false information by the sales advisor and support team when requesting the engineer visit, if i would of been advised these charges then it would of been my charge.

I've been through something similar with a repair that appeared on my Final Bill (I have a thread on here entitled: BT Final Bill scandal).

I'm glad to see they saw sense in your case and I'm hoping for a similar outcome. At the moment, I'm further down the line and about to contact the Ombudsman (Otelo) over a £325 charge.
