Instant Access with cashcard
watcha
I've recently been unfortunate enough to have some fraudulent transactions on my current account, which I've obviously reported . Once I hopefully get my money back I am looking to open an account to be used mainly for savings but with a cash card, just so I'm not stuck for money if I'm ever unlucky enough to be in the same situation again.
I've already got a cash ISA, albeit a rubbish one with Halifax, so any recommendation with regards to an instant access savings account would be appreciated ? Thanks

I've just opened up an internet savings account with Yorkshire Building society, comes with a cashcard and you can make payments via your debit card or via online banking.
You can open online with 0p, as long as you transfer funds within 40 days I think it is.
Hope this helpsSaving target £6k by Aug 2011Raised so far £350/£6k0 -

That was the building society I was looking at, just thought I'd see what anyone suggested while I waited to get my money back

one thing you have to watch, it appeared to charge me £1 for using my debit card to add funds, I obviously didn't read small print on that one, so in future will just do a regular payment from my bank to YBS.Saving target £6k by Aug 2011Raised so far £350/£6k0

I have the ybs internet saver good clean rate with no messing about with restictions and bonus,s.What I also like is the ease of opening,if you need id you can take it in with your opening cheque to your local ybs. mine was all set up in one day.0

I have had the YBS Internet Saver account for over a year and have never been charged for crediting it using a debit card and am not aware of any such charge in the T+Cs.
Have you just done the payment and are you looking at the earmarked amount on your online bank account? If so wait until the payment is actually taken there should not be any extra amount.0 -

Did open online but needed ID,youare allowed to do this in branch.TO FACEDUPTOITATLAST,ybs take a pound for charity from your opening amount.0

This is only done once a year (my Internet Saver is in June) and never more than 99p/year/account. The £1 difference you see is that between the amount in the account and the amount available for withdrawal (as you have to leave £1 to keep it open). Obviously you can have the whole lot back by closing the account.TO FACEDUPTOITATLAST,ybs take a pound for charity from your opening amount.

You can also select not to be part of the charitable foundation and avoid the amount being deducted from your account that way. YBS are the only BS I'm with that seems to have a foundation that deducts money from your account!
YBS are also the quickest company to turn round my link card- I got it 3 days or something after applying. I have to say YBS service has been second to none.0
