Want to switch for first time
With my dual Powergen bill now topping £1k per annum I have decided to look for an alternative supplier. I have found that I could save in the region of £200 with N-Power. However I have never changed supplier before and wondered what the procedure is for changing. Do I have to liaise with both old and new supplier to arrange a switch over date - or can I leave it all to my new supplier to arrange and simply wait for a final bill from my old supplier?

Just ring your new supplier and ask them to change they do it all. Or go through a switching web site and they will give you money back.
I have always rang as that way I can get up to date tariffs and also ask then questions that I can't find on the web. But you take your pick. The measure of love is love without measure0 -
Hi now 33
There are a number of switching sites. You can get a list of them here.
http://www.energywatch.org.uk/help_and_advice/saving_money/price_comparison_services/index.asp
Energywatch is the independent gas and electricity watchdog
Also have you read the article on this site

Advise your new supplier, you will eventually get a phone call from Powergen, rubbishing your new supplier.
Take no notice.

The whole thing should take a month. Make sure your readings are not estimated.0
