Help! Biro on leather furniture...

My daughter was bored this afternoon so decided to draw on my settee! She's so good to me. Can anybody tell me how I get rid of biro off my furniture, without it lifting the dye.

Thanks in advance, and apologies if this has been posted before.

If the ink is oil based you could try a tiny bit of vaseline or moisturiser, face cream on leather. Any residue will be absorbed by the leather so no horrible marks will be left.

My son did this when he was about 2 on my cream leather sofa. Picasso. Hairspray worked for me, with no bad after effects.

No, any hairspray will take off biro and even some permanent pen marks, too (think graffiti - even works on this!) I think it's something to do with the solvents they use in it. I even used it recently on some black mastic sealant stuff that I got on my clothes from some DIY my husband was doing, cleaned it right off. Obviously do a test spot first, but in my experience it's taken everything off that I tried it on, and never caused damage. Magic stuff(never use it on my hair though.......;))

Let me know if your try it, if it works.

    Hi There

I think that milk is supposed to be good for removing ink/ biro stains - otherwise - pretty sure the hairspray tip works

Dont have a leather sofa - so no experience with this

    I would try baby oil
  • My 2 yr old drew on my leather sofa the other day with biro, and i just used some warm, vey slightly soapy water on a flannel (cos of the more abrasive texture-but not too much) and it got it off no problem!

3 kids, eldest just 5 in my house so it's tesco hairspray for the sofas (find value on does not work....) and toothpaste/magic erasers for walls/fridges/floors - you name it, they draw on it!
