Natwest Servicecard Application Form

Hi, I went into my branch on Thursday to complete a Servicecard application form for my currentplus account (I currently have a Solo card), the staff member told me they would send it off and I would hear in about 5 days !.

I was under the impression that the branch would process it and make a decision, or is it all done centrally now ?, and would it really take 5 days ?.

Thanks.

P.s I was told by the branch a few months back to run my account well (I have) and I would probably get upgraded, but now I am not so sure since the branch does not seem to have anything to do with it.

  • I'm not really sure about Cashcard -> Servicecard.

For me, I did a Servicecard 100 -> Servicecard 250 request (basically part of a long story - I wanted to keep a Maestro card as opposed to get a new Visa Debit, hence called to ask for a new Servicecard, while requesting for a 250 as opposed to a 100). I called Natwest Actionline, the agent did put me on hold for a while (said he needs to ask if I can), and approved after a 3 minute wait.

Regarding the branch/central question - I'm not sure, but my impression is that the branch can do we things that are pre-approved, while centrally, they have the power to 'change' the pre-approvals.

I'm sure the Central Processing Team can look up your account usage and decide that you are a good one, and upgrade you accordingly!

Yes it all gets done centrally now adays to take the pressure away from branches so they can concentrate on sales etc.

If you call actionline opposed to going into a branch they will call lending and they will make the decison there and then. *most of the time*

Once you get your new visa debit card your old maestro card will expire within 45 days ish.

maestro, although really cant see the point
  • IS THIS AN APPLICATION FORM JUST REQUESTING AN UPGRADED SERVICE CARD?

or do you have to fill in another application for another current account?

is this dependant on account behaviour and credit history or just credit history???

I was told after 6months i may be eligible for an upgrade if account is run flawless, is this true?

It looks at your conduct within the bank and also credit scoring too. You need not change accounts,, request the form from your branch and they will fill it out and send the application off.
    Best Regards
