The po won't take my parcels because

I didnt buy the stamps from them...........
I buy my stamps in bulk ie £20 in £1 stamps ect
I went to a different PO today as I was in my local town centre i normaly use a little PO.
I handed over the parcels and said that the postage was already done and could I have a proof of postage.
The woman looked at them and said I cant accept them as you haven't bought the stamps from here.
I said that it didnt matter where the stamps where bought from they were postage stamps and im posting a few parcels.
She then said I cant give the proof of postage you need because you didnt buy the stamps here.
I then said are you going to take the parcels as they are already stamped
NO she said:mad: because you didn't buy the stamps from here:confused::confused:

Ive just taken them too my local and said there about it the woman there laught and said nothing new with that one they just want you to buy from them and not the other POs in the area.

I just thought it was all the same
I'm all ways having malteser moments thats me

Make a formal complaint to your local head office, I had problems with the Crown PO near me a while back as they suddenly started to refuse to sell any second class postage (I never did work out why). A complaint suddenly got them accepting 2nd class again.

Soft in the head, that one.

I'd have asked to speak to the PO manager and complained. Still wouldn't give them the parcel though, as they'd likely bin-it.

How do you find out the address or tel number of the local head office?

I bet this is because your PO is been run by a franchisee and therefore sending it via him but buying the stamps elsewhere means he has not made any profit! Not an excuse, but I bet this is behind it! Red tape!

and even if it’s not a franchise they are all at risk of closure and I suspect they get points for selling stamps but not for accepting parcels with stamps already on.

It’s still wrong and they should have taken them but it’s almost like taking your own coke into a cafe.

I agree. They are trying to be run as businesses but then are expected to provide services they don't get paid for. I think if you don't buy your postage from a post office you shouldn't be allowed to drop parcels off. It should be if you print your own postage you can only take it to crown post offices.

How about if you're using up stamps that you got as compensation for shoddy service from RM?

Isn't every postmaster given £1,000's a year to help run their business by the Post Office?
